Directors
Adam Ladd
Mr. Ladd is in his second year as director of bands at Huron High School. Adam is a 2008 graduate of the Ohio State University, where he received his Bachelor of Music Education and a minor in business. While attending Ohio state, he performed regularly with the OSU marching band, wind symphony, symphonic band, symphony orchestra, trumpet ensemble, and other small ensembles. He completed his student teaching assignment in the spring of 2008 by working with the bands at Gahanna Lincoln High School, under the direction of Jeff Shellhammer, and Gahanna Middle School East, under the direction of Diane Ballard.
Having moved to Erie county in 2008, Adam is now an active member of the Erie County OSU Alumni Band, the North Coast Concert Band, and also performs as a soloist and/or as a member of small ensembles in numerous venues around North Central Ohio.
Adam is originally from Oregon, OH and he graduated from Clay High School in 2003.
Christina Scherley
Mrs. Scherley has been the assistant director of bands at Huron High School and director of bands at McCormick Middle School since 2001. Christina graduated cum laude from Bowling Green State University, after student teaching at Brian Local Schools in 2000. She currently holds a Bachelor of Music with a minor in English. Mrs. Scherley attended Troy High School, located near Dayton, Ohio.
Under her direction, the McCormick Bands have participated in the Ohio Music Education Association’s Large Group contest, District 2 Honor Band, and Solo & Ensemble contest. In addition, the 7th Grade Band is a regular participant with Music In The Parks.
Aside from her work with the Huron Bands, Mrs. Scherley enjoys spending time with her son and husband. During the summer months, she plays flute in the pit orchestra for the Huron Playhouse.
Christina maintains active membership in the Ohio Music Education Association and Music Educator’s National Conference.
Doug Hildreth
Doug Hildreth is a graduate of The Ohio State University where he marched and played in The Ohio State University Marching and Athletic Bands. He is currently attending Ohio Wesleyan University earning his Music Education degree. Doug is originally from Norwalk, Ohio.
Megan Kaufman-Wallace
Megan Kaufman-Wallace is a graduate of Margaretta High School where she was a four year member of the Bear Company Drill Team under the Direction of Ellen Denny Coffman. Upon graduation Megan attended Baldwin-Wallace College where she was a member of the Dance Team. She then transferred to The University of Akron where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Music while participating in the Akron Color Guard and choreographing for operas and other choral productions. Megan is still an active dancer appearing in shows at the Sandusky State Theatre, and other local venues.
