The high school concert band will be performing at the spring arts festival on Thursday, May 17th.  The schedule for the evening is…

  • 6:00pm Band members report to the HHS band room
  • 6:30pm Concert begins with the HHS choirs (band students will sit in the gym and listen to the choirs)
  • 7:00pm (approx) Choir concludes their performance and band begins
  • 7:30pm Concert ends / students are dismissed after all equipment is moved back to the band room.

We are looking forward to this performance and hope to see a great crowd!

This is just a reminder to all band parents that plan on attending our annual band banquet on Monday, May 21st at Sawmill Creek Resort, that your reservations and money needs to be turned in by May 12th. The invitations were mailed out to all band parents/students over spring break. Please contact Robin Morey if for some reason you did not get an invitation and she will be happy to get an invitation to you. There is no charge for our band students to attend, but parents, siblings, etc. is $20/person to attend.

Please make your check out to the HURON BAND PARENTS, and mail to: Robin Morey, 105 Pittsburgh Ave., Huron as soon as possible.

There will be a band parents general meeting on Wednesday, May 9th at 7:00pm in the HHS band room. Parents of band students in grades five through twelve are welcome to attend and learn about upcoming events and fundraisers for the Huron band parents.

After a fine performance on the afternoon of Friday, May 4th, the Huron Concert band received a rating of “excellent” in class “B” from the judges at OMEA state contest. This is the 2nd highest rating possible and all members of the band should be proud of this achievement. The Huron Concert band competed for the first time in class “B” this year which brings about harder required music and a more advanced piece for sight reading.
